EMS & Communications

Communications Division

The Technology & Personnel Support Bureau of the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department is the specific responsibility of Deputy Chief Jeff Wallis. He manages numerous departments within the bureau in a consistent and effective manner. Technology & Personnel is a solid foundation on which the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department strongly depends for timely and efficient responses.

The Communications & Technology department consists of the main attraction, the Alarm Office (Fire Dispatch) with monumental support from GIS, Training, Quality Assurance and Assessment, Equipment Purchasing, Communications Paraphernalia, and Software Programs.

In addition, Deputy Chief Wallis is responsible for the physical, financial, and mental aspects of the department's employees through Workers Compensation, Equal Employment Opportunities, and Chaplain Services.

In an effort to provide an opportunity for the citizens to embrace their local firefighters, Dallas Fire-Rescue established a program that allows citizens to "Adopt" the neighborhood firefighters and their fire station located in that community. Donations can be made through the program to help with needs requested.
