$300,000-Structure Details: Firefighters were called out early this morning to the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. When the first crews arrived on the scene they reported heavy fire coming from the main sanctuary of the church and immediately requested a second alarm response. Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire may have started somewhere in the main sanctuary of the church before spreading to other parts of the building, as there was heavy damage in this area. A third alarm response was requested for additional manpower and to help relieve the first arriving crews. The fire was brought under control in just over an hour. Church members who responded from their homes to the scene tonight told investigators the last persons in the church left around 8 p.m. last evening. There were no injuries reported during this incident. Fire investigators will be back on the scene later today continuing their investigation.
