Details: Firefighters responding to the Prestonwood Springs Apartments arrived to find a heavy volume of fire already in more than one apartment. Three units were damaged heavily by fire and three others have varying degrees of smoke and water damage. With the fire making good headway and already in the attic when firefighters arrived, the first arriving units aggressively worked to cut the fire off and keep it from spreading to other apartments. The fire was brought under control in about an hour. Apartment management and the Red Cross are working to find accommodations for the 14 displaced residents. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
