Details: Just after 11:00 p.m. on January 22, 1999, a fire occurred at the business owned by John Burrows, which destroyed the metal two-story commercial building, and resulted in a loss of over one million dollars.

Today, the Dallas County Criminal District Court found Mr. Burrows guilty of hiring two individuals to set the fire. The conviction is for a Felony I Arson. One Dallas firefighter was injured fighting the blaze, which means that the conviction carries a possible sentence of up to 99 years imprisonment.

On Monday, February 12, 2001, the Dallas County Criminal District Court will meet to render a sentence for this conviction. Dallas fire investigators, in cooperation with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, have worked for two years to solve this case of arson, and are pleased that their efforts have been so successful.
