Details: An occupant in an upstairs apartment was first alerted by the smell of smoke as he was watching television in the living room area. He investigated and found smoke coming from under a closed bedroom door. He quickly dialed 9-1-1 and summoned Dallas firefighters to the scene. When firefighters arrived they found the apartment well involved and fire already extending into the attic area. Two apartments on the second floor of the 2-story building were damaged by fire and two apartments on the bottom floor sustained smoke and water damage. All four units were occupied but residents were able to escape without injury. At this time the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
