Firefighters arriving to the 19-story office building were met by security personnel who reported a fire alarm going off on the 14th floor. A search of the 14th floor revealed a fire in one of the offices. The sprinkler system had activated and was containing the fire to the office where it started. Firefighters were able to move in and extinguish the remaining fire. Additional alarms were called for to bring enough personnel to the scene.

Firefighters were able to take control of the elevators and use them to shuttle personnel and equipment to the upper floors as they searched the building and checked for extension of the fire.  Fire damage was contained to the immediate area but smoke and water damage affected a larger area surrounding the fire, with some of the water reaching the 12th floor. Firefighters worked with building maintenance personnel to remove the water from the building and get the sprinkler system reset to normal operation.

There were no injuries reported during the incident and the few people that were in the building when the fire started were able to evacuate safely.  Fire investigators are continuing their investigation into exactly what caused the fire.
