Firefighters arriving to the Dallas National Golf Club late Wednesday evening found the clubhouse already engulfed in flames.  Aided by the evening’s south winds, the fire quickly spread through the wood framing of the 25,000 square foot building, which was still under construction.  The challenge for incident commanders was getting personnel and resources in place around the perimeter of the construction site to keep the fire from spreading into nearby wooded areas.  The fire reached 3-alarms before being brought under control in just over an hour.  Firefighters remained on location throughout the night to monitor the scene for hot spots and flare-ups.

Damage estimates have been set at $1.5 million and the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.  There were no reported injuries during the incident.
