Details:  The Home Builders Association of Greater Dallas is donating $2000 to Dallas Fire-Rescue.  The money will be used to purchase smoke detectors for use in the Smoke Detector Program.  Through this program, Dallas Fire-Rescue has installed over 14,000 smoke detectors to residents in the City of Dallas over the past three years.  Now in its 20th year, Dallas firefighters, fire prevention officers and volunteer groups have worked together to make this program a huge success. Over the years, Dallas Fire-Rescue’s Smoke Detector Program has relied heavily on private donations to purchase smoke detectors for the citizens of Dallas.  Dallas Fire-Rescue would like to take the opportunity of this donation to emphasize the importance of smoke detectors in the home and will have fire prevention officers available to answer questions about home fire safety.  As a reminder, any citizen of Dallas who would like a smoke detector installed in their home can simply call 3-1-1 and make that request.
