Dallas Fire-Rescue Arson Investigators have been investigating the
4-alarm blaze at the Charleston apartments since yesterday. Today,
they have ruled the cause of the fire as children playing with a
heat source.
We would like to take this opportunity to stress the important role
that guardians play in warning their children against playing with
matches and lighters. If anyone is concerned about a child who has
a history of starting fires, they should call the Juvenile Fire
Setters’ Program Coordinator at 214-670-3356.
