Four Alarm Fire damages Southwest Dallas Apartment Complex

Cause: Electrical Short. It was caused by the air condition unit or the extension cord or a combination of both.
Injuries: Two Dallas Firefighters were transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital with minor burns.
Damages: $ 200,000 - Structure
Details:Dallas Firefighters fought a four alarm fire at the Ridge Crest Terrace Apartments. An electrical short started the blaze and damaged about 10 apartment units. All of the tenants managed to get out safely, without injury. Two of the Dallas Firefighters suffered minor burns, Driver Engineer Robert Cason and Lt. Ken Foster. At the time of this release they are still being treated at Parkland but we expect full recovery. The Red Cross will be assisting the 30 individuals that have been displaced by the fire.
