Details:Dallas Fire Department responded to a three alarm call at the old Santa Fe storage building last night. While attempting to install a fiber optic cable, a work crew drilled into a 32-inch main line. The line ruptured and water flowed into the basements of two nearby buildings. The Santa Fe Lofts and the Earle Cabell Federal building were those affected by the water main breakage. Dallas firefighters were out on the scene to ensure that all residents of the Santa Fe Lofts were safely evacuated and to monitor the situation. Dallas Water Utilities began excavation last night and will continue to work until all is repaired.
