“Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery” is a national fire safety program sponsored by the International Association of Fire Chiefs and Energizer brand batteries.  This program urges Americans to change smoke alarm batteries when changing their clocks back to standard time, which occurs this year on Sunday, October 27.

As part of this initiative, the Dallas Hispanic Firefighters Association will present a donation of 5000 batteries to Dallas Fire-Rescue’s Smoke Detector Program.  The batteries were donated to the DHFFA by Energizer battery.  Dallas Fire-Rescue would like to remind the citizens of Dallas that smoke detectors and batteries are available free of charge.  If you need a smoke detector, or a battery for a smoke detector you already have, just call

3-1-1 and make that request.
