Details: Firefighters responded to a high-rise apartment fire this morning to find heavy smoke coming from the building.  They immediately put a second alarm to the fire, which was located on the third floor of the building.  The fire started in a closet of one of the bedrooms located in Unit 3E.  The fire began to spread throughout the unit and partially damaged the apartment unit above.  Floors 3 through 7 suffered heavy smoke damage. The building was evacuated and all of the occupants escaped without injury.  No one was transported.  Red Cross will assist those individuals who have been displaced.  Fire investigators will continue to investigate the cause of this fire.
