Dallas
Fire-Rescue and the North Texas Food Bank have teamed up again for
this year's holiday food drive. Dallas fire stations located
throughout the city will be used as drop-off points for
non-perishable food items.
The drive will
start on Monday, November 11 and continue through Friday,
December 20. Those wishing to be a part of this worthwhile
program may take their donation of canned or non-perishable food
items by any Dallas Fire-Rescue station.
Officials from
Dallas Fire-Rescue and North Texas Food Bank will be at Fire Station
17 to kick-off this year’s drive and are asking the media to help
get the message out. The demand for food from agencies supplied by
the North Texas Food Bank has increased by 19% while food donations
have only increased 5% compared to last year. The North Texas Food
Bank distributes food and grocery products to 370 agencies in 13
North Texas counties. This area of 9,410 square miles is larger
than Connecticut, Delaware and Rhode Island combined.
