Fire Prevention Officers, motivated by the deaths of three
children in Tuesday’s residential fire, made an aggressive effort to
prevent future tragedies. The group installed smoke detectors in
neighboring residences over two days. Here are the results:

ineffective areas, such as inside the kitchen).
